The State of Therapy Conference welcomes you to this day of discussion, networking, and learning with your peers. Our focus this year will be an exploration of the role of relationships in healing. Relationships of all types, between individuals, dyads, communities, and professions will be addressed as avenues for healing, support and growth. Taking our current challenges into consideration, these are compounded by national events, including revelations of the January 6 hearings, the reversal of Roe, mass shootings, and a number of upcoming legislative decisions that remind us of the continued destabilization in our relationships and family systems. These events not only impact the communities and clients we work with, they affect us and the larger therapeutic community. Therapists, exhausted and overwhelmed by the increased demand for services following the COVID-19 pandemic, are now faced with further challenges as we begin to emerge from the pandemic into an uncertain and increasingly divided future.

The State of Therapy Conference will discuss strategies for exploring healing in dyadic (couples) and group (and family) relationships. The Conference will use the therapeutic community as a parallel process for how we can work more effectively with couples, families, and groups. We will develop processes for building dyadic relationships in the therapeutic community--relationships that can provide mentorship and support between generations of therapists. We will then explore how collaborative group dynamics can increase our capacity to provide support and grow our therapeutic skills. The State of Therapy Conference utilizes lecture, panel discussions, and group discussions as its primary learning platforms.

The State of Therapy Conference will be held at the beautiful Edwards House in Framingham, MA. Due to a limitation in space, the maximum capacity is 90 people, so please sign up early!
