Stay Home, Go Home, Find Home: A Permanency Best Practice Series

Based on the Plummer Intervention and Outcome Model, three national best practices in permanency are addressed in-depth in this three day interactive skill building sessions. Staff providing or supervising clinical and direct interventions with children, youth and families will gain valuable understanding of permanency best practices, core competencies, key strategies and tools. An innovative blend of lecture, small group exercise, video and demonstrated role play is used. Hands-on practice is encouraged as is group brainstorming of creative approaches to challenging case situations.Learning Objectives: 1. Participants will be able to demonstrate and/or describe youth need for a safe and permanent legal parent and lifelong connections to family, community of origin and significant adults and social work role in facilitating team planning and decision making and deepening conversations that advance a permanency outcome2. Participants will be able to demonstrate strategies to identify and locate parents/family members and other significant adults to be part of the permanency solution as well as skills to engage youth, parents, and family and team members in building relationships3. Participants will be able to demonstrate and/or describe youth need for a safe and permanent legal parent and lifelong connections to family, community of origin and significant adults and social work role in facilitating team planning and decision making and deepening conversations that advance a permanency outcomes
