Bolstering Psychological Safety and Well-Being in the Age of the Covid-19 Pandemic
Monday, August 01, 2022, 8:00 AM to Friday, August 05, 2022, 5:00 PM EDT
Category: CE Events: Adult Individuals

The Pandemic has had an innumerable impact on society including loss of life, economic disruption, and forced lifestyle changes. The U.S. alone has seen more than 800,000 deaths, and many individuals and communities are seeing an increase in anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, grief, anger, intimate partner violence, and substance abuse. Most individuals are impacted in the aftermath of any traumatic or victimizing experiences, but some 75% evidence resilience or the ability to handle ongoing adversities, while some 25% evidence adjustment challenges and psychiatric disturbances. How can clinicians most effectively intervene to support resilience in the face of persistent and compounding experiences of isolation, polarization, powerlessness, uncertainty, and unsafety so many of our clients are experiencing? This course will focus on the unique assessment and treatment implications for those struggling with the related stressors of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Particular emphasis will be placed on the demonstration of evidenced-based cognitive-behavioral treatment and resilience-engendering preventative approaches. The integration of spirituality and psychotherapy and a lifespan narrative treatment approach will also be addressed. Attendees will receive a comprehensive To-Do List that they can apply deliberately and immediately to their professional and personal lives.

Hosted by MAK Continuing Education, LLC, Cape Cod Institute in Eastham, MA and online for 15 CEs. For more info, visit the event webpage.
