The Annual Meeting is divided into three sections: Special Institutes, the two-day Institute devoted to small group teaching primarily in the experiential mode, and the three-day Conference which offers a variety of formats, including limited registration workshops as well as open session panels on special topics and original scientific paper sessions. The Conference offers a variety of program events geared to relevant topics of concern to the mental health professional. These meetings provide high quality continuing education programming to aid practitioners in updating and enhancing their knowledge and skills with current and new developments in methods, practice, theory and research in the group psychotherapy field. After participating in the Annual Meeting, attendees should be able to: 1. Identify, review and integrate basic group dynamic concepts into their group practice; 2. Compare/Contrast the theoretical underpinnings of various schools of group therapy; 3. Conduct groups in a variety of settings with a broad range of populations; and 4. Apply evidence-based practices as they relate to group therapy.
