Building Brain Resilience: How Trauma Impacts Child and Adolescent Development

This presentation will introduce the concepts of brain development as it pertains to clinical work with children and adolescents. The primary focus will be on the brain in social contexts that support the development of resilience, and of adaptive coping tools such as positive emotion and humor. The workshop will also address the neurobiological importance of sleep, nutrition, and exercise as they pertain to building resilience in the traumatized young people.
